Looking for a fun, educational art program designed especially for homeschool families?

Join us at Brushstrokes Art Studio for our 12-Week Homeschool Art Academy, where young artists will explore the elements of art, famous artists, color theory, design principles, and world cultures—all while creating beautiful ceramic keepsakes they'll treasure for years to come.

Each week, students will complete a new ceramic project while learning foundational art concepts in a relaxed, encouraging studio environment. Every project is professionally glazed and kiln-fired, creating a lasting portfolio of artwork.

No experience necessary—just bring your creativity!

12-Week Semester Schedule

Week 1 — Color Theory

Project: Ceramic Dinner Plate

Students will learn about primary, secondary, warm, and cool colors while creating a colorful pottery plate.


Week 2 — The Element of Line

Project: Ceramic Mug

Explore different types of lines and patterns while designing a one-of-a-kind mug.


Week 3 — Texture

Project: Nature-Inspired Leaf Plate

Learn about actual and visual texture while creating a beautiful ceramic plate inspired by nature.


Week 4 — Shape & Symmetry

Project: Butterfly or Mandala Plate

Discover symmetry, balance, and composition while painting a stunning ceramic plate.


Week 5 — Claude Monet & Impressionism

Project: Water Lily Plate

Learn about Claude Monet and Impressionism while painting a ceramic plate inspired by his famous works.


Week 6 — Functional Art

Project: Personalized Cereal Bowl

Design a colorful ceramic bowl while learning how artists create beautiful everyday objects.


Week 7 — Value & Shading

Project: Decorative Ceramic Tile

Explore light, shadow, and dimension using pottery glazes.


Week 8 — Georgia O'Keeffe

Project: Floral Plate

Study one of America's most celebrated artists while creating a vibrant floral pottery plate.


Week 9 — Pattern & Repetition

Project: Decorative Vase

Learn how repeating patterns create rhythm and movement in art while painting a ceramic vase.


Week 10 — Pablo Picasso

Project: Abstract Face Plate

Explore Cubism and creative expression while designing a playful ceramic plate inspired by Picasso.


Week 11 — Art Around the World

Project: Lantern

Celebrate global cultures through pottery by creating a decorative ceramic lantern inspired by traditional artistic styles.


Week 12 — Student Choice & Art Show Preparation

Project: Surprise Ceramic Piece

Students will complete a final pottery project, review everything they've learned throughout the semester, and prepare their favorite creations for our Brushstrokes Homeschool Art Academy Art Show.

At the conclusion of the semester, families are invited to attend our Homeschool Art Academy Student Art Show!

Students will proudly display their ceramic artwork in a gallery-style exhibit while celebrating everything they've learned during the semester. Friends and family are encouraged to attend and support our young artists.

This special event gives students the opportunity to build confidence, celebrate their creativity, and take pride in their artistic accomplishments.
